i am in love...

..with the "new" neptune theatre. i'm so lucky to have witnessed mark lanegan perform there, the first concert as this new incarnation. it was incredibly gorgeous and intimate, and the sound was perfect too.

i've loved seeing movies there, but i love seeing concerts there even more. i can't wait for the full-on-grand-opening in the fall. i'm already seeing tons of my favorite bands getting booked to play that lovely room.

as if that wasn't special enough, the following day, okkervil river graced their new stage. the vibe was different, no longer seated, much louder.. still killer. i've seen them at least a half a dozen times, if not more, and this was one of the best okkervil shows i've seen.
